Saving things because you think someone can use them, or because you have a fanatasy that the style will come back is, in my opinion, a waste of valuable space. If old clothes/shoes are barely worn and a good brand, I sell them. If there's still some wear left, I donate them. But giving worn out clothes/shoes to Goodwill causes another problem - if it's not saleable, then Goodwill has to pay to have it hauled away. So I had chucked my 15!!!yrs old musty leather boots straight into the trash box:

Shoes contain multiple materials. This makes them less recycling-friendly. If they're already musty, it's very possible they're harboring mold....YUCK! I´m all for donating, but IMO my 15yrs old leather boots were just plain gross household trash that cannot be recycled or re-used. I´m correct or not?
