Help!! I've got those nasty fruit flies in my kitchen and they wont leave me!!! I've taken all fruits off the counters, it's not my potatoe bag, it's not my garbage or under the sink. I've even tried pourring javex down the drain, I read they lay eggs there and til you get rid of that they'll keep coming back. They are still here! help??

Although I consider myself a person of science and thereby don't believe in spontaneous generation, I'd say fruit flies are the perfect example of it.

In my experience, if you get ride of the source of fruit fly food or whatever's attracting them, they'll thin out/disappear in a few days. You might even try spraying them with a bug killing spray but since it's your kitchen be careful so you don't poison yourself!

I don't know what could be causing it, since you've listed the most common things I would have guessed. Does it seem like they're all sitting in one place and then swarm around when you walk in? I would investigate the place they sit. there must be something there.

Also, standing water in a sink, especially with food remains, can attract them.

Thanks for your input, those darn fruit flies did end up leaving. They were by my sink and then by the patio doors, not sure why they'd be hanging there. I poored javex down the drain, I'd read that on the internet, they could lay eggs there. And I ended up spraying with good ol' Off and they left!! yeee!!! thanks again!

try the raid flying insect spray also a god sent during the fly season. Just mist the enitiry of your kitchen or where ever else they might be close the door make sure all windows are shut and leave it be for 10 min or so. If you have a big kitchen like me it could tae allot of mist the fruit flys just do not die as easy as regular flys. I hope this helps

Those little bastards are so annoying. I would really like to have a compost container inside, but it draws those flies like you wouldn't believe!
